Uploading these old Monstamorgue live shows I see how much fun we had. The Band breaking up is really my fault. So to the fans and mostly to the band members I want to post a formal apology. (John, Rion, Bethany, Colby)
I want to explain my actions, no I have to.
I can’t remember exactly, but I know there were some differences of opinion on the sound and direction we wanted the band to go. We had always agreed that this was a second band to every one. I was drumming for Chester Moore’s “Freak 13″, Joel (Drummer) was drumming and making amazing music with his band “Uptown”, Rion (guitar) was shredding in his band “Undue”. … and…. I was starting a new life as a father with my second kiddo (Evie).
Due to my obsessive personality I found myself neglecting my family more and more so I wanted to stop the band and focus on the family for a little while. We did. Then we reformed with a new drummer and started rehearsals with new music and a new more old-school “Misfits” meets “Elvis Presley” sound with more sax and less distortion. and it really jammed, it sounded so much like the old band and sound that we were all so excited. We were actually ready for another show!
So what happened????
Well.. in a nutshell.. Hurricane RITA
After we were displaced for almost a month we came home changed. I mean by the grace of God we did not lose our home like so many others, but we did have a chance to experience Central TX. When we came home, all I wanted to do was get away from the humid, oil refinery air, mosquito infested, racists area of South East Texas. Central TX was so beautiful, Clean dry air, crystal clear rivers, and people who are just “people” .. the music scene is thriving and there is so much culture and things to do. It made me hate being in the Golden Triangle even more.
Now we lived in a very nice neighborhood in Groves, TX. Down the street was the town of Port Arthur. Lots of crime there (ask our bassist, he is a Police Officer there). One night we heard gunfire and it was way louder than normal (I shouldn’t have to say that). The next day we found out that there was a shooting at the end of our road. Not to mention that the previous week, there was a passed out, drugged out, raped woman laying in the middle my road as I was leaving for work. Some one had drugged her, raped her and dumped her there. Bev and I did not feel safe anymore. We decided to move. It was sudden.. I gave no real explanation to any one .. we just packed up and moved. So fast in fact that I moved with my Brother-In-Law and was living in his closet while Bev and the kids stayed in Groves until I found a job and a place to live.
So here we are 6 years later. I have to admit that Monstamorgue is one of the things I really didn’t want to leave behind but I did. I am so sorry. I really miss it, and all of you.
Jym … Jimmy Morgue.
PS. if you move over here we can start the band again. (I am serious)

So I decided to get the ball rolling and start a broadcast channel … you guessed it .. “Channel 13″. I will be doing several topics including covering silly sci-fi/horror movie reviews and music info.
